Snippers Snippers Originals Gin
The Originals: Make Your Own Barrel-Aged Gin
The Gin Deluxe, also known as the bigger sister of the Originals Gin, has a capacity of 700 mL and features a hand-numbered bronze-colored label. With this bottle, you can transform gin into barrel-aged gin. The wood chips in the bottle are made from lightly toasted oak wood typically used for barrel making. Although the chips are small, they impart a delightful, mellow flavor. This flavor is released after adding gin, as if your gin were aging in a wooden barrel.
How to make it?
Add the Gin Start by adding your favorite gin. Ensure the gin contains at least 30% alcohol. Note the bottling date and the type of gin used on the label. We recommend using your favorite gin for this experiment; you’ll be amazed at the flavor difference.
The Aging Process After filling your bottle, let it age in a cool, dark place. The wood chips will gradually release their mellow flavor and amber color. Taste occasionally to experience how the flavors develop. This process takes about eight weeks, but you can also see what happens if you let it age longer.
Serve Your Own Drink After eight weeks, it’s time to serve your own drink. Strain the liquid or carefully pour it off before drinking. Make sure no wood chips end up in your glass. Also, never eat the wood chips.
Cheers! Enjoy, and drink responsibly!
