Snippers Snippers Originals | Rum 700 ml
The Originals: Make Your Own Barrel-Aged Rum
Create your own rum-like drink with our oak chips from used rum barrels. Add a clear spirit like vodka to the chips and let them slowly impart their rich flavor and color, just as if your drink were aging in a real rum barrel! Enjoy the authentic depth and character of barrel-aged rum without the hassle of actual aging.
The Rum Royale, the premium version of the Originals Rum, has a capacity of 700 ml and features a hand-numbered silver-colored label.
How to make it?
Add the Spirit Start by adding a clear spirit such as vodka or dry gin. Ensure the spirit contains at least 30% alcohol. Do not add rum, as the oak chips have little effect on rum. Note the bottling date and the type of spirit used on the label. If possible, use leftover spirits you have at home.
The Aging Process After filling your bottle, let it age in a cool, dark place. The oak chips will gradually release their sweet vanilla-rum flavor and rich color. Feel free to taste occasionally to experience how the flavors develop. This process takes about eight weeks, but you can also see what happens if you let it age longer.
Serve Your Own Drink After eight weeks, it’s time to serve your own rum. Strain the liquid or carefully pour it off before drinking. Make sure no oak chips end up in your glass. Also, never eat the oak chips.
Cheers! Enjoy, and drink responsibly!
