Impact partner: Yespers. From pear to Watertwist

At Pineut we believe in working with partners who not only supply quality ingredients, but also actively contribute to a better world. One of those impact partners is Yespers . Together we make products that are not only tasty and beautiful, but also responsible and sustainable. A good example of this is our Watertwist: a refreshing thirst quencher with, among other things, dried pear from Zeeland. But how does a pear actually end up in your carafe?
Organic pears from Zeeland
The journey of our pear starts on Dutch soil. In Zeeland, organic pears are grown that are full of flavor. These pears are not just picked and shipped, they become part of a larger, circular process within the Total Value Factory of Yespers. This is a production location that revolves around the maximum use of raw materials, with no waste!
From fresh fruit to dried slices
In the Total Value factory, the pears are carefully processed. First, they are cut into equal slices with an industrial cutting machine. Then, these slices are neatly and precisely displayed on drying plates.
The pear plates go into the drying oven, where they are dried for several hours at a controlled temperature. What comes out? Lightweight, tasty pear slices that not only retain their natural aroma, but also gain a crunchy texture and long shelf life. These slices are ideal for our Watertwist, where they subtly release their flavour into the water and give the drink that little bit extra.
Zero waste in practice
What makes this process extra special is that nothing is lost . During the cutting and processing of the pears, pear juice is of course also released. Instead of considering this as waste, the juice is collected and reused in other processes within the factory.
