No-waste Starters from Pineut

Drum roll…… Because today is Up cycling Day we can’t let this moment pass by to make a small pre-announcement of the new product line of Pineut. The No-waste Starters with which you can make the most delicious soup, smoothies and stews with the leftovers from your own fridge.

Against food waste

In the Netherlands, more than 35 kilos of fruit and vegetables per person disappear into the trash every year. These are leftovers, bruises and items that have been in the fruit bowl or vegetable drawer for just a little too long. What a waste! The No-waste Starters from Pineut help to combat this waste. In no time at all, they transform a wrinkled tomato or limp broccoli into delicious soup, and let that forgotten banana shine in a smoothie.

A bag of natural ingredients, as an ideal gift

Although the starters are packed in an envelope, any comparison with 'cooking with packets and bags' ends there. The envelopes contain mixes of herbs and dried vegetables or fruit. For example, the soup starter contains dried onion, carrot, garlic and lovage and the smoothie starter contains nothing but oatmeal, coconut, ginger and sumac.

And how nice! The back of the envelope is writable, making the No-waste Starters the ideal sustainable gifts for through the letterbox.

Ready for winter with StamppotStarters

As a prelude to winter, Pineut is also launching a stamppot starter. Save shrivelled potatoes from the bin with this mix of dried apples, onion and cinnamon and put an old-fashioned pan of 'Hete Bliksem' on the table in no time.

How cool! Holy Kauw Company – you may know them from the cool books Lemonade, Christmas and Sunday – already made a super original recipe with the StamppotStarter.

They did this on behalf of the collective Verspilling is Verrukkelijk. A group of twenty-four food entrepreneurs who have one common mission: combating food waste! This great cookbook was recently developed, which can be downloaded for free via this link .
